I've had a LOVELY summer holiday....what about you?

I had a week in Pembrokeshire with my family.. was lovely

then week back at work... boo.....

then a week in Begur on the Costa Brava in Spain.

those two weeks of holiday were heaven

food... people... sites... weather (all sorts)... laughs.. exercise..... bit more food...

I crushed apples, cooked pizza in a garden pizza oven, snorkelled in warm seas, visited old forts and ancient greek ruins...

    what have you done?

Week on a boat cruising the Norfolk Broads, great holiday very relaxing, plenty of time and subjects for a spot of photography.

Then hopefully two weeks off when we buy our first house, could be next week!

    What's a holiday?

In all seriousness, had a lovely week in Los Alcazares in Murcia in May, first foreign holiday with the boy. It was nice because the beach was inside a natural lagoon, so it was very shallow for a long way, the boy could paddle to his heart's content.

Looking forward to a week at Center Parcs Elvedon at the beginning of October as well.

    This. So far, at least

This summer I've spent pretty much all my time working on the new house. And, let's be honest, that probably where all next year's leave will go too!

OTOH I do have a 2 week cruise booked later this year, so life's not all work work work!

I had a nice holiday back in May, to England and Ireland. First class on BA's 787 was definitely the way to cross the pond. Since then I've been working a new job that has kept me on the road for months.

Just weekends away so far, camping, wedding, festival. All enjoyable but looking forward to a proper week off visiting the Isles of Scilly in September. Fingers crossed for good weather!

Re: I've had a LOVELY summer holiday....what about you?

Not too bad of a summer, if I'm honest. Started pretty early with Slam Dunk Festival and a round of visiting to family (both mine and the OH's). Celebrated her graduating her Masters in Law with First class honours (and getting a training contract!) and just recently had a very nice chilled out week in La Cala De Mijas, in the Costa del Sol. Also, I've recently purchases some special jewellery with the intention of asking a question but I'm not far on the planning for that. I'm thinking a visit to Keilder observatory but all plans are firmly in the draft stage!

Out and about, bit of sailing, bit of touring/camping. May nip over to France in the Autumn. Another couple of trips planned. Not confined to summer really, and off season trips can be better value for money.

My 2 week holiday was in the middle of June in Le Mans for the 24 Hueres Du Mans, stayed in a lovely Gite 40 minutes East of the track ate lovely food and drank far too much, made friends with the Gite owners despite my minimal French and their no existent English (google translate!) so much so that we booked for next year the day we left.

Oh and I made a new friend, meet Iggy the Newfoundland

Re: I've had a LOVELY summer holiday....what about you?

A week in Avila Spain, got back on the 21st August.
Lots of walking around seeing historical places, finding exotic Pokemon and playing tapas roulette - oreja FTB! (B is bin).
Had a great time, very challenging with language in a place where they do not get that many foreign visitors - but did my best with broken Spanish.
    Possibly a day too long.
Last day decided to have a look at Madrid - thought I could walk from Chamartin railway station to the centre in about half an hour - turns out that it's about 7km and through some less than safe areas - hands very plunged in pockets with valuables -zero research, my fault. Centre is too busy for me.
