How is this even possible?
I assume this would've been done over the night, if so, surely CCTV would've been very high on the organisers list before the event started?
"If you were at show and/or if you can provide us any information..." I think they don't even know when or how.
I find their retail products are dodgy enough, who would use one of their beta products?

I assume it's a busy area, and with everything now being wireless, it's probably quite easy to plonk something in a bag or a pocket.
The cynic in me wonders if this is a publicity stunt. How many people reading that will head on over to the razor website to see exactly what was stolen?
Or am I just getting too cynical?

I initially mis-read the headlines as Ryzen prototypes stolen at CES and was looking forward to some more leaked benches.
Razer's stuff is a lot less interesting even if their triple screen laptop might be useful as a productive machine, but for work it never makes sense to buy consumer stuff like Razer (or even Apple) as they are not upgradeable or serviceable.
No-one told them what a kensington lock is ?

I think it's unlikely, given that CES would be very keen to say so if they thought it was false. And I doubt law enforcement would keep their traps shut either. One of those tweets along the lines of 'No such incident has been reported to the police' would not exactly look good for Razer.
It doesn't surprise me particularly though, from what I saw of iSeries. There was a huge amount of very expensive kit around, and whilst there were security around they're more focused on making sure people have tickets than stopping people from half-inching stuff. With crowds everywhere, and booth staff focused on talking to punters, it would be easy to miss something disappearing.
Looks like it was one or more of those 3-screen laptop thingies. If that's the case, I'd imagine it's quite difficult to get out with one of those without being seen...

Now that I think of it. Should they EVER put it into production, do you think some people might get put off from purchasing that?
"Well.. if they can steal it from a Trade Hall where there would be heightened security etc, then they can steal it from me from a LAN hall etc."
You know the type of people I'm talking about lol.
Busy stand with staff pointing at and talking about all their stuff all the time and everyone taking photos, yet someone still managed to nick two of them?
Are staff that inattentive, or was it a night job? Inside job, maybe?
I reckon they'd easily spot some guy struggling to carry half a ton of laptop out of there on CCTV.
I'm intrigued that in the BBC story the CES organisers specifically mention not letting take-down crew onto site for an hour after close to give exhibitors time to clear their kit out. That sounds like a rear-covering statement if ever I heard one. Made me wonder if Razer were slow clearing out and some of their kit was still in the exhibition hall when the take-down crews came in. It'd make a lot more sense of how you could end up with a couple of chunky laptops going missing and someone not noticing straight away - lots of kit being taken down, boxes moved around, Razer feeling rushed and hassled to clear their stand out, and not taking stock properly as they went ... an unscrupulous crew member or two could probably take advantage of the confusion...

How did this even happen? I understand CES is extremely busy but there's security and CCTV for a reason. And did they not lock them down? If they did it would be pretty obvious to see a guy picking the lock and running away with the prototypes
