For those that don't know, he was the last man to walk on the moon. His story is fascinating and resulted in a very good book and documentary which can be seen on Netflix at the moment.

Worth pointing out that the Apollo 10 capsule that he flew in is currently in the Science Museum in London:

And with him on that mission was John Young who flew two Gemini missions, two Apollo missions, and two Space Shuttle missions (including the very first one!). The level of knowledge and experience we lose with these guys is devastating
