*WHOOOSH!*
For anyone who's been living under a rock: pop culture reference
I think most of us joined Hexus, and can't remember why.
I frequently walk into another room and forget why, walk back to where I was then 10 seconds later remember why I needed to go into the other room (often the kitchen). More rarely I'll do that more than once before actually doing whatever I needed to do. That's happened as far back as I can remember...
I find physical location often helps with recalling particular items of info; it's why memory skill practitioners often advocate the "memory palace" model of memorising and recalling facts. There may also be the flip side at work here, in that changing location (room) involuntarily changes your memory context so much that what you needed to be aware of has inadvertently disappeared from reach. Often just changing between browser tabs does that to me.

I still refuse to step on a crack...
I often have very short term memory loss.
I could be about to open a tuna can and place the can opener near me and then I seem to have forgotten where I put it and have to scan around to find it.

Legacy process at work... do you know why you do every process or do you just do them.....

I cant stop catching the water drops....
I just don't think at all about it.. and then.. I'm doing it.

That comes from watching Jaws when I was 9 and thinking jaws lived under the floorboards in the hall.
I also think there's someone looking through the window on the mini-landing (15ft above ground) who controls the jaws monster, so if I look at him I then have to run the rest of the way back to my room.
no idea why I do that.
also have to leave the bathroom before the toilet finishes flushing or a toilet monster will crawl out and pull me in.
and then there's me constantly thinking there are 'things' staring at me, silently judging. like the aliens in M. Night's Signs.
unsure whether it happened before that film or because of it.
