Cryptocurrency Exchanges

Has anyone one here used any Cryptocurrency exchanges to buy / sell / exchange coins?

I have seen several sites but I am wary of them as have no personal experience of using them or know anyone that has so I'm after some personal experiences please.

Back in 2013 / 14 I dabbled in coin mining and got myself some Litecoins and when the ASICs came out and made the difficulty jump to high I switched to Vertcoins.

They are currently safely stored in backed up wallets locally and with the recent price increases (linked to the rise in Bitcoin value) I feel like now is the time to cash in for me as I have a few bills coming up in the next few months that I could use the cash for.

Ideally looking for an exchange for those coins to money (GPB preferable followed by Euro, followed by USD) in a UK or Europe based exchange.

Any info of your personal experiences is welcome.

I've been looking to dip my toe into the water beyone the 77 mBtc I won off a mate gambling a couple of years ago, found both coinbase and kraken to be difficult as hell to navigate and use, and the entire world of public keys and so on so very complicated that I'm happy my small windfall ride until I bump into an ATM, assuming its fees aren't too high. Was pretty happy to spew 4 figures on a few different coins as well. Oh well.

I've found plenty of hosted bitcoin wallets, but not so much in the way of exchanges that have a good reputation.
