    Turkey Earthquake

Friend on holiday there said there was an earthquake over there(might be off Bodrum),which seems to be backed up by EMSC and at least magnitude 6.6:

It might be worth checking up on anyone you know over there just in case.

    Confirmed by the Mirror:

    Kos has been hit hard:

Two dead and two hundred injured.

To put in context Fukushima was around the same magnitude.

Are you referring to the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake which affected Fukushima and triggered the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster?

Because, the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake was of 9.0Mw and the recent Aegean Sea earthquake substantially lower at 6.7Mw - a difference of three orders of magnitude.

    Re: Turkey Earthquake

I got in touch with Osman & Aykut to make sure they were ok first thing this morning when I got up, thankfully they both were, I then heard from Rachel who is guest relations manager at the hotel we stayed at and she confirmed that everyone is ok.

Thankful that my friends there are safe and well.
