I am not even going to applogise. We operate as a commericlal organsiation and we have bills to pay - running just the forums is costs which you would not even like to dream about.

We took feedback about the Newegg situation, and are trying out some new people.

Please make sure you do indeed click on the banners and support the site.

Will do....even if its Microsoft, which, some people on this forum have a vendetta against, remember what pays for you to use this forum, and indeed, this whole site

Microsoft, brilliant ad. I've never fallen into the trap of knocking them for the sake of it, nor because its trendy to do so, as people do with Microsoft and BT.

Without Microsoft we would not be where we are now.

Rightly or wrongly this is the way of the world - of course you don't have to like their applications but I use Windows because it is easy and works

Well, exactly. Without Microsoft and Windows things would be very different. I use Windows because... you put a disk in, watch some pretty pictures whilst it installs, then its on, and works, and since XP at least, never crashes.

i'm quite impressed by the new VS deal - but presume they'll repackage in a couple of weeks with the new version of MSDE and call it visual studio reloaded?

newegg was driving me nuts - but it at least was better than those aria ads on el reg... urgh. *spits*

I would have preferred it if Newegg had opened a U.K. arm. That would have been a better solution to the problem. Anyway, I clicked the ad even though I have no idea what visual studio does.
