If you can't ride a bike how the hell can you run a country?!

first back in may last year we we all hilariously ammused over this:
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/3739515.stm

and then today we are once again entertained by his athletic prowess:
    http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/nation...ike%20Accident

muppet. use what ever descriptive derogetory term you feel as necessary...he's not fit to do anything imho...utterly useless moron.

Please, Don't ask for that one 'as a desktop'...its really not worth wasting your time asking, unless you're able to pay £££?

The thing with mr bush is, he cant see past the end of his own nose. He doesnt give a damn if people in africa are starving cos the country is in so much debt and the government is so corrupt. As long as him and his country are ok, he couldn't care less! He doesnt even believe that global warming and pollution are an immediate problem!

for the want of a better, yet family friendly word, he is indeed a complete tosspot.

I assume a bike is easier to ride than run a country...I can ride a bike, I don't think I'd be able to run a country. I'd have a go but I don't think everyone one would be happy with having to give me ALL their money and living in pre assigned ghettos leaving the open country free for me to ride all over on my mountain bike...

Right you bunch of sanctimonious w*****s I'll set the record straight.

I used to do a hell of a lot of mountain biking and have crashed, fallen off, got caught in my spuds etc etc loads of times. I've also crashed into other people and had them crash into me. The only reason it doesn't get reported is that I'm not the PoTUS. Are you insinuating that I'm a moron as you do Bush? Never fell of a bike have we? To ask people to riddicule another human for an accident that happens all the time is pathetic.

Secondly, Aid for Africa from America has more than doubled since Bush took office. Fact. You can't deny it. Admittedly it's not the same %age wise of GDP that others spend but it's still more than anyone else. I expect that the US government may well increase aid further, we'll have to wait for G8 to finish.

Now I know our most famous Texan is not the most loved bloke in the world but he is not as dumb as you think. He is simply a poor public speaker and comes across as wooden and ineloquent. If you weant to riddicule him for his gaffs or his policies etc etc then go on it's your right, but at least try and be factual and where possible courteous and humorous rather than malicious.

I know someone who thinks that way. As long as they are ok no-one else matters. I come first, everyone else comes last, or not at all.

It is a damn shame when someone so selfish gets into a position of ultimate power, as is the case with Mr. G. W. Bush.

ok, so u've crashed and fallen off... i assume you were either going rather fast, hit an obsticle (a policeman doesnt count as an obsticle) or were doing some kind of stunt? I assume you weren't riding in a straight line at a slow speed on a flat piece of ground?

    *rests case*

doubled from what to what? I've heard this "america has doubled it's aid to africa" what? from $5 to $10? 16 bananas to 32? 96 bags of rice and a chicken to 182 bags of rice and 3 chickens? what? Hopefully G8 WILL find a solution in the next few days, however going by what was said by george bush himself on tonight with trevor mcdonald, i'm not holding my breath.

He's the president of the US, he shouldnt be a poor public speaker, it's 90% of his job! He should have a basic grasp of the english language, how to use it, and what words exist and that he cant just make words up! If he opened his eyes to what was really going on in the world instead of blowing iraq to kingdom come over oil and these mystery WoMD, he might see that the money he's spent on that war could be put to far better use!

In 2003, he tried out a Segway, the standup, motorized scooter at the family's seaside estate in Maine. It went down on his first attempt,
Clinton had a similar experience, but it wasn't a Segway!

Christ does the Bush bashing EVER end? I don't think anyone who has posted (including myself) knows the facts of exactly how or under what circumstances he fell off his bike, and I'm confused as to why this seems to be such an important thing to some people, as funny as it may seem (though not as funny as choking on a pretzel, though again this is by no means hilarious and could easily happen to anyone).

My brain automatically skims over arguments such as this, though I have to say I'm more inclined to agree with Iranu. Give the man a break - he's only got a few more years left then he'll be gone and there'll be someone else for people to constantly whinge about!

People moan about Bush because he of the way he chooses to go about his business.

He acts as if he and his country are the be all and end all of life on Earth and everything revolves around them. This may not be the way it is portrayed in the USA but that is how it looks to the world looking on.

He shows little respect for others, during his speeches he smiles and laughs when talking about serious matters; such as African Aid. That is not a good way to act, it looks big headed, snobish, disrespectful and downright selfish.

His job isn't to take the piss out of those less fortunate, leave that to the comedians (who do a damn better job anyway!). His job, as President of the most powerful nation on Earth, should be to help ensure the safe futures of our children, not causing political unrest by provoking, pointing the finger and attacking other countries.

Unfortunately for him there ARE other countries in this world and he has to argue his way out of not agreeing with things just because it doesn't totally benefit his country. Of course he shouldn't agree to something which will fundementaly destabilse his country, but matters such as the Kyoto Agreement are supposed to help the entire world, not just now, but hundreds of years in the future, when we are not around. Yet he dismisses them because it will mean that the USA won't be able to use as much 'gas'. In my eyes this is selfish and narrow. Everyone has to make sacrifices, expect George W it seems.

Bush's orders of priorities seem to be: Himself>America>The Rest of Earth, when my personal beliefs are that the world should work together to improve, instead of as individualistic and predominantly selfish sovereign entities.

The entire political system of the world has changed in the last 200 years due to ever increasing ease of communications and travel. People aren't just confined to small areas of the globe. People can go where they wish and do as they please (to a certain extent). The US Government needs to get off their high horse and WORK with other countries otherwise they will continue to distance themselves from the ordinary people in other countries and will just become more hated.

I apologise to any US residants reading this, after all it is one persons humble opinion. I have nothing against them, most American's I have spoke to have been perfectly polite and level headed, unfortunately I can't say the same for their Government.
