Next Door Neighbour.........
Next door to us used to live an old couple, but recently the old bloke died. Instead of the old woman, "Ann", live by herself her daughter and partner moved in since it's a large bungalow.
Recently Ann has had a phase of bad health and recommended to stop smoking. Well since she has been smoking most of her life she is finding this hard and her daugher wants her to stop smokinig since they are non smokers. We all know it's not nice to live in a smokers environment if you aren't a smoker yourself. So anyway, Ann has been secretly smoking and asking us to buy her tabs. At first we didn't mind. Just the other day I popped around the shops and bought her 10 L&B. She gave me £3, which means i keep the change since they are only £2.15. I gave her the tabs and she took 3 out and gave them back to me, saying keep them in your house and ill get them when i want them. Basically this week has been an absolute nightmare for me and the rest of the family! I've been woken up 3 times this week from her by phoning and knocking on the door wanting tabs. Everytime the phone ring's I rush to the window to see if her daughter's car is there. If the car is there i know it's safe to answer the phone. Im sitting her at the moment ignoring the phone but shes not going away. She's been trying to phone for about 2 hours now, on and off and knocking on the door. She's a bloody pest!!! I want to go out now to get some replacement bulbs for the car, but I don't want to bump into her! The stupid thing is, everytime I give her some tabs, she is giving me money for them. She's buying her own tabs which she bought the other day!!! We have been putting this money aside, but we've had enough now. ![]() *Disclaimer* - The contents of this message are not necessarily my own opinions, thoughts or views... they may belong to the voices in my head! |

Tell her where to shove her bloody ciggies.
If she cant stop she has a problem and needs to conquer it rather than getting you to assist her with her death. DONT DO IT CRAIG! Ben |

For your sake and hers you have to come straight and tell her you dont want to, and whats more tell her daughter. Her health is at risk so she has to come of em, no matter how hard... I am not an adict my self so these words are easy for me to say, but what must be done, must be done.

hmmm...I'd be honest with her and say if she wants to smoke then she'll have to rely on someone else to do what you're doing.
Please, Don't ask for that one 'as a desktop'...its really not worth wasting your time asking, unless you're able to pay £££?

nah, just start sellin em to her for extortionate prices! or just tell her you think she should stop, and you aren't gonna buy em for her anymore cos your concerned about her health.
if war is the answer, then we are asking the wrong question 2 things i hate the most - xenophobia and the french "chuffing" |

Old people like routines. If they can rely on someone to help them get by on a regular basis when they can't rely on themselves all the time, they'll be happy.
You're doing her a favour with whatever you decide on (as long as it's not ignoring her). If you stop buying her cigarettes, you're not supplying her with what is actually killing her. So you should feel good that you're doing her a favour. Though - she might not be too happy about it. If you proceed to buy her cigarettes, you're doing her a favour, keeping her routine and making her happy. Even if you are providing her with the means of which she's killing herself with, you should feel good because she is happy. |
