Not done it for any Apple products, but I have sent projectors away for repair like that - if Apple are sending you a box and will fix it, that's the hard part done tbh and really it's down to the carrier they're using as to how long it takes. I've waited 4 days before now for the box to arrive (or the packaged projector to be picked up) and other times it's been the same afternoon.. Best thing to do is find out which carrier they're using and ask for a tracking number or something and keep tabs on it that way (like as not they'll only replace the battery anyway so it could be turned round at Apple within the day)

My brother has done it a few times with his iBook to get it repaired, they generally seem OK but I think he mentioned that once they didn't send the box and he had to phone them up again.

When I had my iPod repaired, they sent me the box, and arranged for a courier to pick it up, iirc it was sent to the Netherlands. I got it back about 3 weeks later, not a bad turn around time including shipping etc.

    indeed 3 weeks is excessive!

Seagate it took 4 days to get a replacement from their neverlands base.

Basically this is apple, haha, you bought apple, now once again you pay.

it didnt really make much odds to me - since I got my motorbike I haven't been using it much. to be fair though, they did test it and supply a new one, which at this point (even new orders) had a 2 week lead time.

Had various Apples fixed over the years - always been fairly prompt, picked up within 24 hours, returned within a week unless parts have been a problem to source.

Last time the iPod had to go back due to it being a replacement product which they sent out with a smashed screen, sent off iPod 4 days after new year got it back in early March, I had a right problem getting them to do anything about it.
