<rant>parking

I got my first parking ticket today, for "unnecessary obstruction".

I was parked perfectly legally however another car (which parked after me) on other side of the road parked about 10 meters away. There really was no obstruction...

Bloke that lived near (note he owns 4+ cars, probably worth ~20-30k+ each) phoned up police. He told me that the police were there for 20 minutes - at which time they probably got bored and gave me the ticket just to shut him up..

He caused damage to my car, but I have no evidence. I saw him around my car when i was walking back to it which was probably when it was done.

Can I sue him with no evidence apart form my own eyes (from 30+ meters). He also stuck paper to my windows with selotape, which took about 30 mins to get off...

The fine is £30 or waste time + money going to court to contest it. I would have to take a day off work to goto court, and it would probably end up costing 3 or 4x more than just paying it - im guessing even if I win... can I sue him/police for costs?

I will likely spend most of tomorrow at work drawing up ways I can get revenge on postit notes...</rant>

I think it stuck to the glass and got all tacky... sort of like when tape is stuck to something for a long time.

I acutally had that happen to me when I worked at a hospital as a tech, I cam back to the car and it was litteraly at a 45 degree angle with the nearside front wheel right up on the pavement.

I was pretty annoyed about it because even though it was double parked, you could have driven a bus through. I wanted to complain about it but they wont take complaints where you have to pay the fine you have to go to another building. In the end I couldnt be bothered so I payed them the £30.

    Gits.

I know what I would do to his 20k cars but I can't share it with you - he sounds like the typical "the space outside my home belongs to me" nutter. You can legally fight the ticket but you will need evidence to back yourself up. Perhaps try complaining bitterly to the police, there should be details of the officer who posted it.

Unfortunately revenue > service when it comes to the police these days.

Actually, one thing I didnt mention was that the guy who lived across the road from where I parked was one of those "the space outside my home belongs to me - and I will mark it with traffic cones" type. I do think that he is the one that got the police in. Incidentaly I started parking elsewhere in another street and everyday I had a note stuck to my car telling me not to park there and I was even confronted by one of the residents one morning on my way into work. She actually followed me as I headed in, I told her to f*** right off as I paid road tax and entitled to park on any public road so long as there were no signs or lines.

Set fire to every one of his cars, then when he comes running out all crying and boo-hoo and sh*t, knock him out. Then while he's unconscious paint 'PAEDO' on the front of his house, only spell it 'peedo'. If he calls the police say you were somewhere else. Works every time!

yeah but the difference is I was parked perfectly legally... would of been less lilkely if i DID park on double lines...
I found another place to park that isnt outside any houses.. so im just going to pay the fine..

If you are out for revenge then wait a long time before doing it. You could get one of your mates to key the cars really deep.
