Paris Hilton gets recording contract

No not for another one of her low budget "art" films, this time they've decided to give her a microphone......

Paris Hilton has reportedly signed a recording contract with Hollywood's Warner Brothers Records.

Hilton was photographed by The Sun leaving the Warner Brothers Records studio after a meeting with executives where she has apparently signed a contract to record an album with the company.

Earlier this month The Sun’s Victoria Newton singled out Paris to be the new Britney Spears.

She has drafted in the incredible writing powers of Cathy Dennis, who penned chart-toppers like Britney Spears' Toxic and Kylie's Can't Get You Out Of My Head.

Her debut album is set to feature a track called My Mistake – recorded about the famous sex footage of the heiress and her boyfriend which took the internet by storm.

This is actually quite old news, shes working with Hip-Hop superproducer Scott Storch, and at the 2005 VMA awards she was seen with him the whole time.. I think he also bought her a Mercedes McLaren SLK. I've heard two of her songs produced by him so far, they are turd. Production is OK, but erm, I think he just wants some ass as well as to add to his supremely large amounts of money (as he isn't a Brad Pitt as they say).

Oh but they can, because music is no longer about how talented a musician you are, talented musicians achieve a cult audience at best, its about how marketable you are, how good your face would look on the front of a frosties packet and how many million dollars you can make by wearing reebok trainers, the music industry has turned into such a parody of itself its not true.

I'm workin on it believe me!

Me and my new lead guitarist have been writing/jamming twice a week this last few weeks and from just the two of us we've got 5/6 songs done and ready to be tuned up with the rest of the band, the final stage now is to get a decent singer in, spend a month or two tightening up and then we'll hopefully be ready to gig by the end of july and get our first cd recorded hopefully by september, then the fun really begins

Heh wow good news mate I wish you the best of luck since I know the music industry is getting harder by the day, and it's harder for people to get into it now that there is already so much out there, and as you said, big labels are no longer really concerned with talent. However, I'm also going to be producing a mixtape by the end of Summer featuring artists worldwide (mainly from Europe and America)... and my part? Well I produce the instrumentals, manage the recordings and mixdown, and help/do songwriting - it's going to be my Uni portfolio for a Music Production course, as well as distributing it to record labels of all shapes and sizes Also I'm going to be mainly using a female singer whos got a real good voice, and an A-Level in dance, and as sexy as hell... hows that for marketable and talented :O

Lol chav anyone? Well Storch is well known for his hip-hop and rap productions (that famous key riff on Still Dre, and some of 50 Cents hits like Candy Shop and Lil' Bit) but he does some good stuff for pop music too, like Beyonce's songs like Crazy In Love, Naughty Girl and allegidly (although I don't think he is behind it) the forthcoming Pussycat Dolls single 'Buttons' ft Snoop Dogg, which although I'm not really a fan of theirs, its a very good tune. So expect pop. And lots of it. Maybe with a lame rapper or two.
