    Geeks and sun

Most geeks don't get enough sun, I have the answer to the problem of how to get pasty faced geeks out under the big shiny thing.

    LAN Party In The Park!

Sunshine, a couple of generators, some wireless gear, and a lot of beer would do it.

Somehow I don't think it would ever happen though

Last summer gameon LAN we went to we spent most the night out in the sun beering it up and making drunken fools of ourselves.

Then there was ACON5 before that - Again beer + sun + gamers = Uttoxeter race course fun. Ahh this was the time we kept beeping the carhorn @ Matt and annoying him

Practical-wise - Lanning in the sun would be rubbish due to monitor glare as hexxeh has said, plus the fact that all the sugary drinks would attract bees, wasps and other nasties is also a no-no. Then theres the people that clock the hell out of their shuttles and have exhaust air coming out at 100 degrees.

These folks PC's wouldn't last 3 mins in the sunshine. They are usually the first at a LAN to remove the panels as the airflows hot, and then they spend all weekend with the case off trying to get it running and resort to clocking back a little bit.

In Britain, with the inevitable rain after 10 minutes...perhaps, but X2's and GTX's are so cheap to replace these days anyway.....

Interesting....bringing your own well trained squirrel could give you a competitive edge in that respect....*goes to find squirrel*
