Phone games on TV
I really do hate them, but I don't want this to be a hate thread... they can be quite comical, just now on ITV play (I didn't put it on deliberately), an indian man phonend up
ITV: Hello Indian: Hello ITV: What word comes after full? Indian: Yes full ITV: No what comes after full Indian: eh? ITV: What word comes after full ITV: Sorry, 5, 4, 3, 2 Indian: Ah yes, 5 4 3 2 1 ITV: Err, sorry 5 4 3 2 1 is not the answer Went along the lines of that anyway , that's the second thing within about 10 minutes I've seen gone wrong.

They really are so close to scams - but I refuse to totally critise them....because I've won over 300 quid on Quiz.tv
![]() I don't know if they still do it, but they used to have free web entry, where you put your phone number in an online form, and if you were lucky you got a callback within a few seconds (normally 1 out of 3 entries would get a callback, you get told if you will get one or not). That got you to the phone queue - just like if you have phoned up and paid a quid, but for free We actually wrote a small script to auto-enter for us too, it would sit there and enter our details until we got a callback, meant you didnt have to sit there at your pc while watching ![]() I got through loads of time and won twice times - there are certain games that have a number of 'tricks' to them, depending on how they wanted to play it. For example, the first one I won was a 'count the reds' one, where they had a few paragraphs of text, with some words coloured in red, some in blue. Some of the words also spelled 'red' or 'reds'..the idea of the game was to count the number of reds in the text. It's a vague question - the answer could be..the number of red letters + red words + words that spell red + words that spell red backwards + words that spell reds (but not red) or a combination of the above. So the trick was to work out an answer for each, so you would have maybe 10 numbers. At the same time you are listening to the other numbers that people are guessing - and getting wrong. This helps you to narrow down teh answer, and if you hear one of your answers the you know you are wrong, so you get closer to the right one ![]() Or you can just write down all the wrong answers, and as long a syou have a rough idea of what sort of number it is you can have a good chance of getting the right answer. It's all about how you play it lol, spent hours with quiz.tv ...but I have something to show for it so i'm happy ![]() Oh and since we're on the topic, we also played a few...jokes with them. Phoning up and giving stupid answers, the best one was with a presenter called Russ.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAPwV...arch=quiz%20tv The video of it is there, a bit out of sync for some reason, couldnt get it working properly on you tube ;/ **warning, one word mentioned may be considered offensive, but it's not swearing **

I used to watch quizmania all the time on itv1 before it moved to itv2....you do hear some stupid answers. If you dont know, it works along the same principal...or like Pop Stars, then you have to guess the pop stars. Anyway, once one guy rang in and she asked
"whats your answer" "eh?" "whats answer do you have for me?" "whats the question?" And then he said he didnt even have the tv on so he didnt know the question....why ring in when you aren't even watching??? And the otehr day on The Mint.....the word was Big ________ and they gave a clue "lion" so the answer was "big cat" obviously....someone rang in and said "Lions Den".....some people are so stupid! ![]() To get an avatar requires you make 500 sensible posts.....yet still people ask so why do I even bother having this here! |
