What context is it in mate? I ask because when me and a mate googled our names, his came up as a gay pron site and I still wind him up about it now! Mine (thankfully) didnt get any hits!!

Unless the webmasters are sympathetic to your cause, I'm not sure they will help!

Change is inevitable, except from vending machines.

That's Google's problem not the people who own the websites.

You can contact google and ask for the page to be removed somehow... I'll see if I can find it. Either way I doubt they will remove it.

Edit: nah can't find it sorry

How serious is it? I mean, if it's only your name then it's not too bad - i'd get worried if they had your address/phone number. I don't think there's much you can do besides asking the websites if they'll take your details off, somehow i doubt google will have the time to worry about it. Good luck any way

I thought organisations have to remove someones data that they're holding by law, if that person requests that it's deleted?

Can anyone back me up on this, or did I just make it up?

Unless my memory deceives me, this isn't quite correct. If it is personal data, you can request to see it, and they're allowed to charge you a "reasonable" fee to show it to you. If you can prove they have no good reason to be holding the data you could request it no longer be stored under the DPA, though.

In what context? Messages you've posted, or other personal details?
