Natwest account number.. wth is it??

Just signed up for a cardplus acc. and the details came on friday - card, details and an application form to activate the Solo feature (and to recieve the PIN)

The app form asks for the card number (printed already), signature some other info and... my account number...

I cannot for the life of me see where it is - it doesn't seem to be on the card and it's not obviously in any of the supplied documentation either..

Does anyone here know where i could find it? Is it something trivial like the first 8 digits of the Card Number or what?

The numbers should either follow, or precede the sort code on the card.
You should have the sort code on the card in the bottom left of the card i think.

Sort code should be something like: 20-15-22 so look at the card to see if the same numbers are along the big row of numbers and it'll be the next 8 after them or before them.

    If that makes sense.

I think this is correct, but not 100% sure.

Maybe someone who works in a bank can 100% clear it up.

Is the account number not on the letter that your Solo information came with.?

The account number isn't on the card.. it is on your paying in book / cheque book.

On mine there is some random 0's, then the sort code, THEN the account number.

It will be on the bottom left.

I googled a cheque and edited accordingly:

Sure will, i was going to post that but then realised he's just signed up for the account and probably wouldn't have it yet.

Doesn't the book come with the card and everything? or does it come at a later date for security reasons?

    I can't remember... I got my account when I was 11 :\

All that they send is a card, (no paying in book) a letter about online banking and some leaflets..

My building society has it on the card.. but afaik, all that's on the card is the Sort Code and the start/expiry dates. i'll have another look though.

    Thanks so far

On my Solo card it's the last 9 numbers of my card number. It's HSBC rather than Natwest but I don't think that makes a difference.

Mine is an 8 digit number.

And Tarffie is right, because the last 8 digits of my card number is my account number.

If you have online banking access already, it's displayed there. I always have to login to online banking whenever I'm buying something over where they need a/c no and sort code because, as mentioned, Natwest don't put them on the card any more...

Natwest for security purposes do not put the account number on the card. If you want it, check a statement, or pop into a branch with your card and a piece of ID.

yeah best to just ask your branch - but normally the account number is not on the card for banks - it is normally only actually printed on the card with building society accounts (eg my nationwide card has it printed, but not my RBS)

Should be on any statements/paying in slips though, and I would expect it to be printed on any correspondence between the bank and yourself...but I guess not. Your branch should tell you though
