Kids today. Or lack of.
Why are children not kids anymore. I'm only 21, but the stuff the kids do today genuinely shock me. I have a family off licence, and I have kids of < 12 who try and buy beer and fags.
I see gangs of 8 year olds throwing stones at cars, I had a 13 year old offer me out for a fight too the other day. This IMHO is all down to bad parenting. Nothing else. But the thing that shocked me was this: I was talking to a young ish kid, and he was telling me he'd had sex at 10. 10?! I honestly doubt I was capable, I know that at that age I thought girls had mang and it took me another 3 years to actually be interested enough to kiss a girl. Crazy. Anyone have their own experiences of this adult-kid syndrome? |

Mang?
Kids do what kids do, and throwing stones at cars \ giving it the big one and offering people out in front of their mates is how scallies behave these days. Didnt you do that stuff years ago? Maybe you were a good boy, but a lot of people were stupid enough to be doing that as kids. Chavs these days huh?

Mate, at 11 I was running about player Tally/lurkee/Manhunt, football, making Dens in the woods with traps and super mario bros.
Not gang assualting other kids/cats, or having sex. And Mang is like cooties. |

Not all kids are like that - most kids are fine, you just notice the little sh1ts because they're the ones causing trouble. And there have always been little sods, you just notice them more now because you're getting old

Even when I was younger we had some scallies, they'd do really bad things, like call a teacher a "cow" or throw water on someone. Not knife someone in class. :S

Anyone ever stop to think that it might be because of the increasing amount of things adults are telling kids not to do that is making them do it?
Everyone knows about reverse psychology, but also when adults go around saying "Pah, little sh*ts, I wasn't like that at my age" it makes the kids wonder who you are to be judging them so quickly. Doesn't take long until the kid realises that if they're already being lumped into a catagory and blamed for something, they may as well do it and make getting the blame worthwhile. If adults treated kids with more respect, as individuals rather than a "them and us" situation and let them do more, like skating (constantly hearing about that getting banned), riding their bike (heard the other day about it not being allowed on a prom ffs!), playing football without some whiney old neighbour complaining, etc. Then maybe they wouldn't be bored and pissed off, wandering around smashing up "the enemy's" cars and starting fights. I don't just blame the parents, I blame adults as a whole, and yes I am one. |

Back when I was young kids respected their elders, it's got out of control now.
![]() Although I have no first hand experience of previous generations, I think it has got worse... but not all kids are like that. I never was like that, neither were my friends. I did first get drunk at 11 though... but that's another story. Cigs, weed, all the other crap, never. |

That's the weirdest view I've ever heard.
Not saying it's not valid, cause all opinions are. I disagree immensely though, kids are allowed out at the age of 10 till midnight. I had a 11pm curfew at the age of 16. |

kids are getting worse, i remember back when i was in year 7, just starting a new school and seeing all the "bigger kids" and being well scared of them as with everyone in the year. but when i got to the top of the school, in upper sixth, all the little year 7 sh1ts would be shouting there heads off at us standing around in packs giving abuse to everyone they came across, be it school kids, people walking past the school or even the teachers
tbh, i blame society in general because its got to a point that kids like that just have to be accetped, you cant discipline them and god forbid that you touch them, times are just getting very silly |
