I use ukreg.com to register my domain, they're pretty cheap. For web hosting I used http://www.dreamhost.com. I really like them, although there are some mixed opinions. To be honest, most webhosts suck to some degree, but I've found dreamhosts to be very good. They've had some network issues, which appear to be fixed now. I like their approach, the costs, the amount of space they give you, and bandwidth, and the accessibility to their services.

I would recommend www.namecheap.com to register your domain.

I would highly recommend A Small Orange for your web hosting. I've recently switched my hosting to them and they really are as fantastic as everyone has told me.
    Service is exceptional.

If you do decide to go for A Small Orange don't hesitate to use me as a referral.

Qiq was who I was looking at going with. £20/year for 10gb of space, and 100gb bandwidth Also, atm you can get 60% off (if the offer is still on )

They responded to my query within 3 minutes (at 5 to midnight no less!) so they seem reasonably good, and speaking to people they seem pretty reputable (up with the likes of 34sp apparently)

I use www.dreamhost.com myself and have found it very user friendly, and quite cheap.

What I like about Dreamhost is that they provide you with ssh, telnet and ftp access to their servers, and you can have as many sessions logged in as you want, for as long as you want. You can also configure as many users as you wish. And they allow you to set up sub-domains for free to.

Another vote for qiq - they have everything I wanted and I signed up on their special offer (posted on Hexus) for 10 quid a year.

Allowed me to install my content management system I wanted (Drupal) and also Gallery2 - has ssh access for manual tasks, unlimited mysql databases (I only use 1!) and so far been very good. Also email replies are very quick.

Just signed up with Asmall Orange using your referee. I like the look of them.

I hope it's as good as you say it is If it's not..... I'll send Ryszard round to have a polite word

I guess you'll be getting some incoming free loving from ASO now?

    Cheers

Oooh thanks Butuz! I'm not entirely sure what I get, I think it's a months worth of free hosting, yay!

I'm sure you'll be very happy with ASO, their support really is the best I've seen!

At the moment I am using hosting unlimited for most of my domain but I cant reccomend them at all after the last month.

I have just set up an account with bytemark.co.uk They offer a 4 gb virtual machine with 80mb ram and 25 gb transfer per month. You get to set up the server however you like.
