went into hospital last monday, to get final stage of my reversal operation (to remove my recently aquired colostomy bag (well last december)

Good to see things are going well for you mate. My sisters got a colostomy bag due to having no Bowels, and is stuck with it for the rest of her life. Wouldnt wish it on anyone.

That must have been a pretty f'ed up time for you. I wish you the best of luck (I wish we could do one of those cards).
On the plus side you can always show off your scars and tell everyone how you got shot/stabbed .
