    Access to the For Sale forum/ Swearing Policy/ Trading Policy

    Access to the For Sale forum requires 100 posts.

    There are threads discussing this, and explaining the reasons for it here and here

    Would all new members please note :-

    1) Spamming the forums to get 100 posts will NOT be appreciated. It is likely to get your post count reset to zero, or even access to For Sale permanently and manually locked off for you. Please don't do it.

    2) The subject has been debated back and forth, and the Mod Team are convinced that, at least for now, the rule is correct and it is therefore not going to change in the short-term. Please don't create new threads debating it. We've done that extensively already. That is why this thread is Closed.

    re: Access to the For Sale forum/ Swearing Policy/ Trading Policy

    The rules on HEXUS are very simple. They should be abided by at all times.

    Foul language will not be tolerated and it seems people have started to do this more and more. The filter is there for a VERY good reason - trying to avoid its function is not allowed.

    * Threatening behaviour is not acceptable.
    * Starring out some letters is not acceptable.
    * Starring out words is not acceptable.
    * Swearing is not acceptable.

    Do not do it - we will be handing out warnings on a new system now and this will revoke your access if you consistently offend. Its very easy to have a conversation and not be rude or abusive.

    Tone down the language if you are guilty of this. There will be no exceptions for this - its a family forum, words such as crap etc are acceptable, but derogatory and rude words are not.

    If you have to star any letters or the whole word out then you should not be saying it!

    Re: Access to the For Sale forum/ Swearing Policy/ Trading Policy

    Trading on HEXUS via PM only - or unsolicited mail - All read please
    Hi all,

    It has come to my attention that we may have a scammer in our midst, now whilst I can and will ban the person involved there may be alternative ways for the user to resurface - for example this is not restricted to HEXUS.net, but has happened across a number of the top PC hardware sites.

    I need to make it perfectly clear that you should deal with no-one offering you any sort of computer parts who does not have at least one of the following:

    * A respectable post count on HEXUS community (+25 posts minimum)
    * A HEXUS.trust profile
    * A thread on the classified forums advertising the goods for sale
    * An address in your local country (except EU)

    This is for your own protection and you are urged to not communicate with anyone via PM or email who is offering computer parts at cheap prices.

    I am sure that the majority of you are internet savvy and the likelihood of you being caught out is slim but we felt obliged to make you all aware that this is happening.

    Whilst HEXUS Ltd. cannot be held accountable for anything you do, we do value you all and we want to make sure you have a safe and enjoyable experience here - so please be on your toes and make sure you only trade when the criteria are met and you feel comfortable with the transaction.

    Many thanks,

    Zak33
    On behalf of HEXUS.net
