    Thieving posties

It's the time of the the year when some posties like to help themselves to a five-fingered Christmas bonus.

Already I've had one package that I sent last Monday disappear into thin air. Last year, my fiancée's grandparents sent cash up (not good idea) in an envelope and that disappeared as well.

I'm going to be sending any packages special delivery even though it's going to cost.

Watch you don't send anything valuable in the normal post.

Recorded delivery and communicating with the reciever is a must for anything valuable.

a good idea is if you are sending cash, perhaps use a cheque rather than proepr cash.... that way it 'doesnt' really matter if it does 'disapeer'

Well that's what you get for living in eastern europe ( sorry.. the old Walsall/Warsaw joke again! )

On a more serious note this thing always happens with mail. I've had a few cards sent by relatives which mysteriously dissapeared along with the 5 pound note they always send ( bless them ) I've told them not to send things like this about 4 years ago and if they want to give me birthday/christmas cash, then pass it to my mother and I'll get it that way.

Royal Mail are supposedly clamping down on this sort of thing as well so it does make you think how much of this is going on a national scale.

Plenty of post does get delivered, but just to the wrong address. We often get mail addressed to the wrong place (around the corner there is a similar address but with 'cottage' added) and it's up to me to be honest about it.

I also knew, a few years ago (so dont know if it still happens) that the sorting dept of Royal Mail used 'cheap labour' ie anyone who stood in the right place at 5am and wanted work for the day. This would often involve people i worked with who were homeless, or drug takers etc. Not known for being the most trustworthy. I really hope they clamped down in this....

System as shown, plus: Akasa 965 HSF. Griffin Powermate that pulsates blue! Solid oak computer desk.
Diamondback Razor. Logitech media keyboard. Netgear MP115. AC-S1 R2 on the 3870. Netgear DG834N router.
Creative I-Trigue 3450 driven by an Audigy 2. External 160GB and 500GB hard drives. 1 happy me. 1 not so happy me's wife.

The council also employ loads of people who can't even spell their own name in their sorting office. It's where all the down and outs hang out during the day. (either there or selling the Express & Star in those newspaper booths).

I'm sure they're not all bad people though!

it works as a good excuse for those you've forgotten to send birthday/christmas cards to:

them: "i noticed you didnt send us a card this year then"
me: "those bloody posties, I even put a fiver in there for you..."

The Royal Mail keep delivering our mail (flat A) (as well as mail for many of our neighbours) to the other entrance (flats B and C) which we dont have a key for, makes life really annoying having to deal with neighbours getting agro that I come to check for mail everyday when waiting for something important.... really grinds my gears
Have complained a few times but doesnt seem to be any better

Well, its down to us up and ins to bring a bit of Christmas cheer to the lives of these down and outs. And what better way to brighten their festive season than by turning a blind eye when the thieving lowlifes steal our Christmas presents, sell them in a pub, and spend the money on low quality heroin?

    Have a heart Steven.

I agree. It's the good quality stuff they deserve at Christmas time.
