Tornado in North-west London
A pretty ferocious tornado caused damage to over 100 properties in the Kensal Rise area of North-west London this morning.
Apparently, there are many homeowners who are still at work and unaware that their homes have been severely damaged. Full story here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/6217514.stm |

Tornados are actaully fairly common. UK gets more tornados per area than anywhere else.
It's just that they are usually quite weak.

Pah, another BBC link so I can't see what's happened ( BBC is blocked )
/me runs to news.google.com instead ![]() I agree with the above poster - we do get a fair few, it's just they tend to be in remote country places so we hardly hear about them.

that's 2 in a week, there was one in Bow street a week ago!
That was some storm that went over though... proper dark clouds, lightning... was watching it blow over out of my window (which faces north west from Pool of london)

What if there was breaking news about Scan on the beeb?
Last job I had tried all sorts to stop us from checking mail/ football scores (used to work nights) - luckily they were inept with their computer security so vtunnels still worked just meant we spent more time trying to get round the restrictions rather than the 5 mins it would have taken to check mail when there was nothing to do in the lab... lol ah well |
