Didn't play Planetside?! You missed the best online gaming experience of the last 10 years!

Still many moments that simply have never been repeated in other games. I remember one time having the privilege of leading an aerial raid on the Terran Republic's home continent of Forseral in the role of Supreme Commander of the Vanu Alliance. An alliance of Outfits totalling 700+ players. Aim was to be like NATO but ended up like the UN, i.e more talk then action. Shame.

Well anyhow that evening the air drop we performed was incredible. We had something like 13 Galaxy transports + many other combat aircraft and 130+ people on Teamspeak arranged into Squads, Platoons with Squad/Platoon Leaders on the Channel Commander channel on Teamspeak all coordinating the attack and different drops.

We attacked as part of the main drop while a smaller force dropped in a diversionary attack. I can still remember giving the order to drop and seeing around 100 people drop over Anu storming the Control Center and vehicle bay to roll out armour. You couldn't help but grin and laugh in a slightly manic way as the 5-10 TR in the base freaked out. You would of paid handsomely to be a fly on the wall and over hear their pleas for help.

A massive battle then raged around Anu over the next 90 minutes as around 150 TR turned up to defend. Ultimately we were unable to hold on to our foothold and withdraw but it was a simply stunning attacking in terms of scale.

I know I've heard the stories from MMO guild friends, but back then I was still on dialup, no way I could of afforded phone bills to play any online games.

Planetside 2 is going to be an education for modern gamers on what makes a real multiplayer game.

Can't wait. I'm gonna build a PC specially for this game
