FWIW - the system on the left (GPU@850MHz) is scoring 30-40 FPS on the 32 player servers with settings on 'high'.

Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Downloading it now. Randomly, I got an invite but haven't signed up to anything for a while.
Sweet invite just plopped into my mailbox. Coming down nice and fast. Not sure how they hand them out but I've noticed if you make yourself useful in one beta or alpha you tend to get invited back for more, often see the same names in the closed stages. I found an exploit with the walkers in 2142 and I think I've had beta invites for every EA FPS since. Pretty sure they always lottery a few to EA accounts too.
OK, so i've got home and I may have played it. Clearly a strict NDA on this so I can't say anything about the alpha itself. So instead i'll say the following.
I have just pre-ordered Battlefield 3. It may or may not have had anything to do with playing the alpha.
My fears about BF3 being Bad Company 3 have been shot down in flames, despite some fairly large problems with the game, which you can read all about on the public EA forums (Chiefly the lack of command-rose and the automatic shouting which breaks any attempt at stealth). Keep in mind also that my system is by no means amazing (CPU excluded..my gfx card is decidedly mid range) and yet I am still pre ordering. I am confident that the final game will play nice with my system, with graphics on High.
Go pre order this now, 64 players on this will be epic..

Bah update in progress
Good to hear it's not Bad Company 3, I really enjoyed those games but I want a proper successor to BF2. Going to be some bugs in the alpha, it's what it's for, I've played a few that were catastrophically bad and went on to be brilliant games.

Aww it keeps saying I do not meet the criteria. Anyone know what the criteria is?
Bah, got in downloaded the game and won't launch because it needs a newer driver version. My laptop runs with 197.16 and nothing above, any 200 series hard locks the laptop due to being picky, no alpha for me lol.
