My codpiece is well and truly hung up.
Can't wait for this game! if its anything like bf2 its gonna be good! rigs gonna need an upgrade though....sets the plan into motion
Lets hope its not nerfed by an over-zealous Punkbuster and a poor server browser; its actually looking like it could redeem the franchise which in my opinion hasn't been good since 1942
Also, they ought to ditch MoH and go with this, lol![]()
I have to say that this engine is looking really good when I have seen in it motion. Hopefully it scales well to lower hardware. I never got into the BF series as it was mainly for multiplayer and I wasnt into that sort of thing back then, but well up for it now, so looking forward to this.
Oh and what does CQC stand for? Is it close quarter combat? QTE I know is quick time event, but never heard of the other one. Cheers
Always played BF2, never very good, but improved lately.
This looks brilliant, though i am hoping for a bit more in the full length vid![]()
First game I have pre ordered since GT5. (That was 2 years ago..)
Playing a bit of BC2, but miss the old BF2 days.
Dice explains why the low player count on consoles....if you havent worked it out already
http://www.gamerzines.com/ps3/news/b...yer-count.html
DICE's Patrick Bach has explained why the console versions of Battlefield 3 have a lower player count than the PC version, stating that issues with "CPU, memory and bandwidth" are to blame.
"It's more CPU, memory and bandwidth actually," answered Bach when we asked him why the console versions of Battlefield 3 were limited to 24 players, compared to the 64 available on PC.
"What would you like to cut based on that? We don't want to cut any of the lighting, the animation system, the destruction or the vehicles, so we keep all that and then we stay where we were with Battlefield: Bad Company 2 with 24 players.
"Personally I think that worked fine," he continued. "Maybe it would be better with more but that's not always the case."
Let's be honest Patrick, it probably would be.
The news of the multiplayer player count being restricted on the console versions of Battlefield 3 was the cause of disappointment for many fans when it was revealed back in February.

"No, not really," he replied when we asked him whether the current-gen consoles were restricting the team creatively.
"We're setting the bar quite high by developing for the PC, but we do know how to scale things. We're not worried about the experience from playing on a console would be lesser than on a PC. It'll still be a magnificent Battlefield game that would look stunning and sound stunning, so I'm not worried about that at all."
DIC probably won't be showing the console versions any time soon, though.
When we asked when we'll be given the first glimpse of the console versions up and running, Bach told us he "can't answer that question."
Battlefield 3's multiplayer mode is yet to be revealed, of course, although recent comments from Battlefield's Brand Manager Kevin O'Leary suggest an E3 reveal may be on the cards.Battlefield 3 launches in November on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

YES FLIPPING YES! Air battles! One of the best things of battlefield, i must admit i am a solid fan of battlefield 2142 (more so than bf2!) and on them the aircraft, such good fun! Id be on comms to my squad and as they are getting hammered by tanks and men id just fly down and let a hail of explosions off or make a hot pickup in the transports.
this game... if it lives up to the hype, it will be amazing... cod is clearly the crap.
They were sorely missing from BC2, a very welcome return.
Nothing more satisfying in BF2 than taking out a jet in flight with a tank's main gun
Apart from attaching C4 to one, then detonating as it reaches the end of the runway - of course!
