I dont like MW2 for the same reasons. Had a go at MW3 but didn't like it, too watered down and no more 64 man servers. Max is 32 which sucks.
COD4 MW1 is the best one I've payed so far, shame not many people play it as often now. Migrated to BF3 and it's awesome, more realistic and rewarding for those long range sniping

Probably annual (COD:Elite is) given the rate they're likely to churn the games out.

    Re: Battlefield 3

god i hope not... i wont be paying for it if it is. I will almost certainly un-install the game and never look back. If a game wants to go by a subscription model then i think it should be based on the high street price of buying the game new each year and having CONSTANT updates with new features and maps. Not an update every 6 months, one every other month.

From my understanding, the 'Premium' offering is essentially a season pass for all the DLC (or 4 pieces of DLC if you bought the game new, although you don't get a reduced price) and in terms of a season pass, i'd imagine that the server side benefits such as a priority in getting into a server will last for a year.

Premium is a one time payment as far as I can tell.

Can't get the patch until tomorrow because not at home tonight. What have they managed to break this time if anything?

I hope they don't go overboard with the payment system, they will alienate a good core of their players. It's a shame traditional non paying genres are going this way, where all the best stuff you pay for. That's what MMORPGs are there for, imagine having to pay to unlock grenades on Counter strike, that would take the mickey.

    Re: Battlefield 3

Pretty much a fiasco this server release. R24 was tested last week and didn't work. Obviously EA wanted to have its grand moment at E3. So released the patch anyway. What we seem to have now is 3 different server releases. None of which work properly

Singh do you have vars.premiumStatus = true set in your startup.txt file by any chance? Looks like there is going to be a toggle to lock out non-Premium members.
