Rage - Hi Res Images in thread

So who else is looking forward to this, id first new I.P in many years. Been watching the vids on Youtube etc and cant wait.

Pre Ordered a few weeks ago on Steam, Pre Load has started, huge filesize, nearly 22 Gb, just over 50% done so far, at least will have it on day of release. Got the extra weapons pack included and there is also a Sewer DLC included with it as Steam upgraded Pre Orders to the Anarchy edition.

Personally think this is going to be an awesome game, has a very Borderlands look to it which I lost so many hours to and still play it today. The whole post apocalyptic setting is like the Fallout series also, must be a Bethesda thing!

Only downside is that once its finished downloading, probably by the end of today it will be sitting on my drive for 5 days before I can actually venture forth into this new wasteland!

re: Rage - Hi Res Images in thread

You've also got Steam's lovely file decryption process to go through yet, when they unlock your pre-load.

I've pre-ordered mine at long last. The download wouldn't of bothered me, it's just a fair bit cheaper elsewhere for the same content. Can't wait!
My only concern is should I hide my true identity? A costume maybe?

Bought mine from ShopTo. £23.99 for the Anarchy Edition.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"

re: Rage - Hi Res Images in thread

Yeah, will be leaving it running on Thursday night when I go to bed, should be good to go by the morning.

I Pre Loaded Deus Ex Human Revolution and done this and by the time I got up it was ready to play, didnt have to do anything. It had automatically decrypted the files, dont remember it doing them when I started the game (could be mistaken though as I went out to the stable to sort the horse out, may have set it away before I went out)

I guess the disc versions will have to decrpt also as its a Steamworks title, saves the downloading of the game, I believe there is a code for the extra 2 items of DLC also in the box.

Really looking forward to it, but I don't usually pre-order shooters, in case they're not as good as the hype - will be watching the reviews carefully.

re: Rage - Hi Res Images in thread

Disc versions won't install until Steam unlocks it at their end - you just sit and admire the packaging. Steam unlocks at really odd times too, not when you'd expect them to.

Edit: This is from someone who has practically their entire collection on Steam. It's just one of their shortcomings that I'd wish they'd address.
