No took around 20 odd hours or so, I used a VPN for early access.

However I've heard folk have been completing it in around 8 hours so I wouldn't be surprised if it is possible.

Fair enough then, doesnt sound very inspiring though! Hows the graphics looking? Demo looked crap, and running animation was terrible(is that fixed?).

Is Origin really as bad as everyone makes it out to be? Hicks post would suggest it is, but I'm wondering if it's just internet hype. I really want to play ME3 but don't want to bother with Origin after all I've heard.

    Re: Mass Effect 3

Really i dont have a problem with Origin, its been solid for me while playing bf3... i find that the backing of steam is to much, steam has got so laggy and crashes more than origin now, however steam has the basics done like backing up and restoring games.

The only thing thats annoyed me is that yes online distribution is a good thing but im fed up with publishers overpushing it, this is just another reason why EA can be so crap... How can you get something as simple as activating a retail cd key and then installing the game, wrong!. Steam works fine in that respect, if origin worked like that for ME3 id be happy.

I just want to play my game without downloading 10GB .

Well, it goes back and forth. Some of the close up bits still have crap textures and shaders, whilst on other occasions (still talking about close ups), its very, very good, with better shadows, and very decent textures. During the game, you will be hard pressed to notice anything untowards. Its very polished, which makes the occasional crappness in the close ups even more odd.

The running is still odd, though looks less awkward with armour rather than just the slacks in the demo. I may not like it, but well, you just forget it, and if that can ruin then game, then thats a little fussy. Still a little too much like they want it to be Gears of War though.

But thats only off about 2 hours play time. Loving the combat, the characters, the story, the universe again. There are some bad bits, but well, its aleady starting to pale into insignificance. Right, enough jabbering, time to get back to it

    Re: Mass Effect 3

Hopefully they can sort it soon then with the textures, perhaps pc will get a high res texture pack . Im resisting the urge to play it and the fact i need to download it has helped, got a big chunk of work done! Still another month before i can actually play with a big load of time.

I see the Day one DLC is 800 points and isnt as crucial as originally thought which is a bit pleasing(still would have been nice to be free!). The only reason sprinting annoyed me alot is that ME1 and ME2 had it relatively well done, what was the point in changing to some terrible animation .

I guess i got a month of waiting and hopefully some fixes etc are released in that time, must avoid ANY spoilers now

I would personally highly recommend the DLC I know most don't like the idea of more £££ but the extra back story is worth it IMO.

Mine pre-order will arrive from Amazon......eventually. Could be as late as Wednesday according to estimates AND I had to remind them they'd charged me incorrectly (pre-order price guarantee).

I have not played the third game but TBH,I CBA anymore with it any more. I might pick the game and the DLCs up when they are somewhat cheaper. Readiness Rating?? WTF??

This is a list of the endings and what Readiness Rating is needed:

    http://www.justpushstart.com/2012/03...endings-guide/

So,to get the best ending you might need to play the MP part??

    LOLWTF??

It seems they added more dynamics to the game way to far on into the series. Especially considering this was meant to be the final installment.

I have to say come to think of it the ending was very unimpressive considering all the build up to it.

    Re: Mass Effect 3

Maybe Bioware could have spent more time on the actual game than all the DLC??

    Here is the original ending:

    http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/sho...postcount=1765

    That sounds much better!!

    Edit!!

Reasons why the ending was changed:

    http://www.ign.com/boards/threads/so...ers.250066288/

The stuff about Haestrom in ME2 makes more sense now.

Seems Bioware used stock images too(spoilers):

I feel like I've been bent over and shafted, I enjoyed playing the game, yet I now feel it's on of the biggest let downs ever. How can you develop a trilogy with such poor endings.

It is because your effective readiness level is only 50% of the stated value unless you play the MP part:

    http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/sho...postcount=1830

Here is a possible cheat to improve the effective readiness by increasing the amount of war assets to a massive level:

    http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/sho...postcount=1839

However,to get the best endings of all you need to play MP. Maybe there will be a cheat to enable the best endings.

    What a shambles!!
