    Re: Mass Effect 3

Right i have finally finished uni, and my first task was to finish the end of ME2 again without losing the geth and i managed that, still only rescued part of the crew but oh well! Now i just bought the DLC, stupid idea when i can get it for free but meh. It was £6 for 800 points on origin or £13 for 1600points, baffling who ever manages the store needs a good kicking as thats basic maths, should be less than £12 for buying more!.

Now im stuck downloading at 30KB/s... has EA launched a new game today or something? my BF3 was updating at 40KB aswell, its pathetically slow since apparently its 600MB! Its not on my end as im getting strong 1.2MB/s on other downloads, probably EA swamped or their servers are to far away again .

Does the DLC require activation before start? i.e can i just play now, then download the dlc later tonight and seamlessly add the new content in ?. Or will i be missing extra etc?

The start point for the DLC comes via an email at your private terminal, I downloaded it when I was around half way through the game

I was having trouble connecting to anything to do with MP last night, think maybe something was up with their servers.

Finished the Game just now, was very dissappointed in the ending. Loved the rest of the game though, was everything ME2 should have been!

It seem that a free DLC will be released to clarify the ending:

    More details about the DLC:

    http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/sho...postcount=2813

"Are there going to be more/different endings or ending DLCs in the future?
No. BioWare strongly believes in the team's artistic vision for the end of this arc of the Mass Effect franchise. The extended cut DLC will expand on the existing endings, but no further ending DLC is planned."

    Re: Mass Effect 3

Loving the game, theres alot flawed with it imo and could have been much better but its solid. I dislike how they keep making the game more simple, they had ME1 with all armour and guns upgrades and requiring different skills to unlock things etc IIRC and then ME2 removed most of it(i think?) and ME3 still gone and just a much more streamlined (i.e lame for me ) version.

Now the MOST infuriating thing is... this SHOCKING SYSTEM! Ive almost finished it (all side quests, about to attack a certain base), i noticed my effectiveness was terrible @ 5.6k BUT due to stupid online it was much lower. That was OK, tolerable not something id choose though but getting like 3-4% a game is ok, i wish it was seperate as the multiplayer is ok (im struggling to see why a whole team was needed to make this as its so much of a rehash), i got bored very quick and have finally got to 92%, wanting a break from it i watched some tv and came back to it, now the issue i have is...

ME3 SERVERS FLIPPING DOWN!!!!!!!! I cant login, it tries fails and then obviously multiplayer doesnt work... thought no problem ill just continue singleplayer with 92% it should be good enough, try multiplayer and i cant resume due to my DLC (the day one, i think it was bollocks and a useless money spin added nothing to the game and was very basic) being unauthenticated as i couldnt log online... sorry but isnt it meant to authenticate once and be done? You can never play offline from what ive seen, pathetic that a SP is being hinder by not just the multiplayer link but also forcing you to be online.

    /Rage.

Edit: Actually finished the game now... disappointed to say the least, beside the fact that everything is completely off with the rest of the series... its bugged, i couldnt tell what section meant what (no map etc) and walked upto one side and got stuck... basically had to select one option. Didnt want that one at all!Went on youtube to see the others and found its all the same regardless of the choice...!

I finally caved in and got it when I saw it available for £13.05 (Zavvi with 10% code + 40p quidco). Only just finished mars mission but does feel good just like ME2 but can't say I'm looking forward to completing it unlike ME1+2 as I can't help but feel I'll be disappointed....

I wasn't disappointed at all to be honest. The game pretty much just got better and better and I loved the ending. Early on I thought Mass Effect 2 was better, but ME3 grew on me.

There's a free app with some amusing short messages from characters as you progress through the game, and a mini strategy portion if you want to easily boost galaxy at war ratings.

    Re: Mass Effect 3

I think its my favourite of the series so far and its a good game. As for the ending it was interesting (reminded me of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. ending) but didnt quite feel as epic as the build up to it for me, mayby because it was a bit short on some details. Anyone else thought that Shepards voice acting improved as the game went on?

    Re: Mass Effect 3

Played through it and got the DLC because I got the game cheaper. Javik actually is quite a good team mate and I used him on most of the away missions, and his commentary definitely added to the game. The journey was definitely great, and I was indifferent to the ending - it seemed kind of rushed in its current form. It will be interesting to see how they follow this up though especially since there is a DLC message at the end.

I went in with 100% Galactic Readiness and 7000+ War Assets and played the three different endings which are very similar.

There also seems to be a glitch in the ending. Spoilers:

In your final charge towards the beam your last away team are hit by the beam. The funny thing is that these very same team members end up in the Normandy after the crash.

Another glitch with the ending sequence:

Another is the destruction of the mass relays. If you play the Arrival DLC,a destruction of a Mass Relay destroys an ENTIRE system. Shepard did this in the last ME2 DLC and this is why he is under arrest in the beginning of ME3. This would mean all the star systems with a Mass Relay would be destroyed in all the endings.

Also, when you start to think about what happens over the three games and what Star Wizzard Child says, there are some major inconsistencies, especially with the additional parts of the Prothean history you gleam from Javik(it seems they were a multi-species empire),and what happened in the previous games.

    It all indicates the either:

1.)Star Wizzard Child is interested in preserving synthetics (themselves) not organics and he is lying to you about having to destroy organics to stop them from making too advanced synthetics which would destroy ALL organics. The fact that Star Wizzard Child says synthesis is the way forward is also nonsense too.

Supported by the fact he says Shepard will die in the destroy ending and yet he survives this,ie,not all synthetics will be destroyed only The Reapers when the weapon is activated.

It also seems that The Protheans defeated a synthetic uprising against them sucessfully, and more over it was The Reapers themselves who purverted a race of organic/synthetic hybrid people against The Protheans. Hence,The Reapers don't consider synthesis a viable solution.

It seems it was The Reapers who were the synthetics destroying organics in that cycle.

In this cycle it was The Quarians who attacked The Geth first when they became self aware,so it was organics attacking synthetics and by the time of ME3 it was The Quarians who had The Geth at their knees. Yet,at the point of their potential destruction it was The Reapers who gave them the means to fight back.

On top of this both The Quarians and The Geth have a synthesis option,ie,the one where they co-exist, and in this ending the Geth software form actually starts becoming an integral part of The Quarian environment suits, and is actively helping them restore their own immune systems(or something along those lines).

So basically yet another group manages to find a balance between organics and synthetics in this cycle and yet The Reapers obviously ignore this like in the last cycle.

Moreover,in the first two games it was The Reapers who managed to turn The Geth against the other council races(The Heretics) and caused the attack on The Citadel.

It seems it was The Reapers who were the synthetics destroying organics in this cycle.

Moreover,it also seems The Rachni Wars were started by The Reapers. It seems The Rachni Queens were indoctrinated to fight against the other races by The Reapers.

2.)However, as the ending was meant to be what we got,I suspect the writers ran out of time and CBA to string together a consistent ending.

Also,Alienware are giving away a free code for a special sniper rifle:

    http://www.alienwarearena.com/giveaw...ect-3-giveaway

It is fully automatic and can deal quite a decent amount of damage to groups of enemies.
