Mann vs Machine - Whole new Team fortress 2....

Has anyone else played this yet? its only been out for a couple of days but I am hooked.

Its a whole new take on TF2, and if you every enjoyed Left 4 Dead and Unreal Tournament 2004: Invasion you're gunna love this.

You and 5 others hold off several waves of mechanical TF2 characters, some super sized bosses and some cruel tactics through to Victory

You do need to dedicate a few hours to it, but it is well worth it!

TF2 seems to have really changed since I last played - whats with the Micropayments to play on a "real" server ?

Those servers cost 99p per play effectively (i think), but the only difference is when you kill the robots they drop special loot/in game items to wear TF2 wide.

Ill never bother with them, but for those die hard fans the items look dead neat!

Servers aren't free and in short supply too. So having a small fee charged for entry allowed Valve to get a ton of servers setup for launch.

I setup a bootcamp server on the Scan game server.

Just played through the maps for the first time. Lots of fun. Very cool game mode

Seems interesting but for me the game died when they started adding all those ridiculous spam fest weapons..

I've been thoroughly enjoying the mode so far. Seems the best way to get into the servers is just through the browser though as opposed to searching.

If always felt that was half the fun of the game, sheer fun and comic humour. No intense twitch gaming or high pressure silent creeping along....the total opposite!

And thanks jock, I'll give that a go next time!

MvM is great fun especially with 5 other friends and comms. Valve upped their server amount and waiting times have dropped significantly to under 2mins regular now. Also the weapons are constantly being adjusted, very few weapons if any are really OP. I regularly run with total 'vanilla' weapon loadout.

That's like a drop in the ocean considering the game already had the sticky launcher.

I don't mind the gameplay effect of the new weapons, but I miss the clean consistent art style it used to have.

I haven't played TF 2 in a very long time, now it's free to play and all. This does look quite interesting though, thanks for the info.
