Surprised no one has posted about this yet - Have just started playing it and am about an hour in and really enjoying it. There's a influence from BioShock, Assasin's Creed and a bit of Theif in there.

Played it non stop over the weekend and have finished a low chaos playthrough and got the good ending.
Absolutely amazing game start to finish
Quick question, does this work on XP?
No, on the Steam page minimum does state Vista or 7 even though it is only DirectX9 and it is a Steamworks title I believe so even if you bought boxed you would be tied to Steam with it.

One thing you may be wanting to think about for the near future is that Steam are stopping support for XP also (SP1 initially), it was mentioned in an update a few month back. No doubt they will remove XP gradually in the future.

I've heard people say that it does work on XP, but no one I'd trust O_o
BTW, if you find a max FOV of 85 as terrible as I do, there is a .ini file you can edit to increase it to whatever you want.
Mine is set at 110 which is much less nauseating.
Can't remember the code but a quick google search will come up with plenty of links.
this is viably the only game recently that I'd buy and book a day off work to play.
And Ferral told me it rocks.. big time

I maxed the time stop feature out and used it a lot just going round stabbing people. Pretty much all AI got killed by me, I just can't pull stealth off all the way through a level. It just seemed easier to kill them.
There are 3 endings which revolve around Emily.
Golden Age which is the best ending is the one I got. The other 2 come from a high chaos playthrough (killing people and not hiding bodies etc) and can come about from the very last scene.....
**SPOILER**
High Chaos endings come from Havelock holding the girl on the gangplank type thing above the lighthouse, rescue her and you get one ending where she is power hungry and the city gets worse, the other she dies from falling then you get another different ending which is the REALLY bad ending.
Glad other people are enjoying it as much as me.
My only tip to anyone who is planning on picking this up would be to remember to quick-save regularly, as it only appears to auto-save at the beginning of each chapter..

This does look good, I've been so tempted by it but can't decide if it's this or waiting for Hitman: Absolution.
Reviews all seem to be gushing about it!
Cant wait till payday until I can buy it
Bought it on Sunday and absolutely love it. i was a bit worried the graphics were going to be that horrible HL2 gloomy grey everywhere, or really OTT camp steampunk. The first half hour is a bit weak graphically and gameplay-wise IMO, but it gets better as it goes on. I quite ike the weird Victorian feel of the art, even if the textures are often blurry. The plot and the sneaky/objective based core gameplay are what make it fun. Just remember to switch the mouse smoothing off and find the disable startup movies ini file edits.
Clean Hands!
Who has it? Completed it for the second time earlier in the week but without killing a soul, there are definitely noticeable consequences for murdering a lot of people! This time around there were not half as many "Weepers".
