You might gain something, but nothing worth upgrading for. Just hold out and buy a HD4870 or something when you can afford.

As that's the factory overclocked version, it is better but still not by a great deal, so personally I'd not bother.
depending on how much you want to spend and how much you want to up grade? My personal route is replace when it starts to struggle or in preperation for another upgrade. If your 8800gts is not struggling yet, leave off for now. If it is struggling or your looking at getting a higher resolution monitor, then 9800gtx+, HD4870, GTX280 (order by performance and price, I left out the HD4850 as it's a toaster and additional aftermarket cooling pushes the price up too high) |

You would get alot more Fps. The HD4850 also preforms about the same
, good if you have a smaller case, tho a tad hot. |
