Why I wont buy ATI graphics cards

    ATI sucks I hate it!!

LOL, I just had to start this thread... mostly for humor

Personally, I have always bought Nvidia... just because of better driver support/stability... and now some really neat features... pop-up blocking, etc.

    My GeForce history...
    GeForce 256 - 3dMark2001= 2059
    GeForce 2 GTS - 3dMark 2001= 3600

    GeForce 4 ti4600 - 3dMark2001= 15,223

    GeForce FX 5900 - 3dMark2001= 20,139

    I skipped GeForce3.

i hate to tell you but ive got both 5900 ultra and 9800pro and the drivers for the 9800pro have had alot less problems than nvidias
in the passed nviida were by far the best drivers but ati caught up and i think nvidias went down hill in when they had to cheat to compete

I won't buy Nvidia because the support fox hunting, id cards, war in iraq, animal testing, "new" Labour, canabis, alternative medicine, creationists and pulling the switch to kill the person in the car on the level crossing.

I've tried the NVidia Omega drivers, coz nvidias wouldnt let me overclock my s****y fx200. got an extra 1000 3D marks from it, but was acting strange so i went back to the nvidia drivers. No problems with them though

    rofl quality...

only reason i've stuck with nvidia (gf2mx->gf2pro->gf3->gf4ti4200) cos i cba to format and reinstall everything if i were to change the drivers.. so i might have to get a 6800u, unless the ati card completely beats it and warrants the effort of formatting my comp

nah... its sometimes worth the format to wipe away all the crap i've accumulated for the past 6mnths/year - and everything seems faster once its done... the alternative is just to buy a new harddrive at the same time, which i've done in the past

chrisf6969, you say in the title of this thread "Why I Won't Buy ATi Cards" but in your little bitch session you don't actually give a reason. Give a reason as to why and people may be able to sympathise with your situation

I wont buy an ATI because i can't play Counterstrike at full speed it lags big time
Also AA does not work in some games properly (either slows them down too much or does not work at all)
i.e. GTA3, CMR2, Halo, "POP sands of time", Neverwinter nights e.t.c.

(only joking about not buying ATI as i have a 9800 pro but there are problems with ATI's AA and AF in some games..)

"Mmm... I want you for my wife!"
    "Autom...Sprow...Canna...Tik banna...Sandwol...But no sera smee?"
"Of course you can. We would love for you to join us."

Turn trueform off (a feature NVIDIA cards are lacking?)
this should improve your fps from about 30-50 to 90-100 constant (with my pc anyway).
I had this prob but now I relised what it was ts fixed

Not had any probs with aa or af though
