Review: Dell UltraSharp 2405FPW Widescreen LCD

Glad i didn't get the 2005FPW but i'll have to wait to see if these panels have similar problems, backlight bleed etc.

I pushed my budget with the 2005FPW myself, so 2405FPW would have been out of the question for me. But if anyone would like to give me one, I would accept

Anything better than S-video for games consoles etc?

24" sounds huge, what res? Sounds like it could make a great TV

I just blew my budget when D`Hell had the offers on so as I couldn`t make my mind up between the 2001 ( gotta luv the 1620x1200) and the 2005 (sooper dooper brill widescreen ) I got one of each intending to exchange one back to make a pair then decided to keep both.
2005 is brill but the 2405 would give me a better widescreen and the pip and pbp on the bigger screen would have made one screen OK.
Never thought I`d say I liked anything Dell but there you go....
Now I`ll have to save up again or put in for a bigger budget.

Please dont wait as long to review the Gateway 21' wide FPD2185W. If you are able to include it in the upcomming monitor roundup i think many people would really appreciate that.

I am in the process of building a new desktop to succeed my laptop and LCD is the choice holding me up. I want to go widescreen but there doesnt seem to be an obvious choice for the gamming/video 'enthusiast'. The gateway looks tempting, but no formal review for some reason. Buy it and then return it from best buy if you have to

Also waiting for widescreen offerings from NEC and ViewSonic to hit the 'shelves' (probabbly only available from online sellers). I am also waiting for Dell's 2005/2405 replacement line. If the pannel makers can produce a widescreen with the performance i've seen on 4ms pannels like the samsung 930BF, then i'll be ready with my checkbook.
