    Your experience with ATI Crossfire

    Hi
I am thinking about cheap replacement of my EVGA 9800gtx and go for crossfired HD4830.I have seen a few impressive reviews of these cards i.e. http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=16300
and it seems worthwhile. However, I wonder whether the improvement would also be noticeable in games which are not optimised for crossfire, since individual 9800gtx is much faster than single HD4830.
    Any experience ? Please share.

Re: Your experience with ATI Crossfire

4830 were discontinued a while back, so unless you've got a cheap source I'd not bother.

4850's . . . I've been kicking around the idea of getting a couple and running them crossfire atm (replacing my 9800gtx)
    The reasons are:
1- singly the 4850 is near enough equal to the 9800gtx so even if crossfire doesn't work too well with a certain game I'm still not going to lose over a single 9800gtx
2- current low cost, the 4850 can be got for under £80 atm
3- only one power connector per-card.

However as the gts250 is the same card as the 9800gtx+ but some have only 1 power connector as well and can also be bought for under £80

I just don't know what to do
