Er what?The GK104 will probably be the card of choice for most consumers. This mid range part will also come in two flavours, the GTX 560Ti with a 224-bit bus and the GTX 660 with a 256-bit bus. The GTX 560Ti ends up with 448 cores, 850MHz clock and 154GB/s of bandwidth.

If this article is true, then each model adds a slightly wider data bus as well as some more shaders so should see some nice scaling across the range.
I'm sure it's just been put there to bait leakers, but to be honest with the current naming scheme shenanigans I wouldn't be totally surprised if it happened.

This is the thing - the die is not that much smaller than Tahiti if the measurements are correct. The estimate is between 324MM2 to 361MM2 for the GK104. Tahiti is around 365MM2 meaning the GK104 is not that far behind it. I was thinking it was well under 300MM2 for the GK104. The thing is that Tahiti is the full compute enabled part for AMD with a large memory bus too. Unless the Nvidia naming nomenclature has changed,the GK104 will be the gaming optimised part with compute functions minimised. It will be interesting to see how small the HD7800 series GPU turns out as I suspect,performance relative to die size and number of transistors probably will be higher than Tahiti.

In fact a similar situation was seen with the GTX560TI and HD6950. The HD6950(389MM2) actually has a larger GPU when compared to the GTX560TI(367MM2). OTH,the HD6870(255MM2) had a much smaller GPU than either the GTX560 or GTX560TI.

The performance slide maybe legit but OTH,but one of the forums also showed the following slide.
The two 'spec' pictures are different - look at the fan blade.
And the last picture doesn't even feature a Kepler card on it!

for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
The second picture looks to be a crop of the first. Regarding the "peformance" chart it could be the actual one blanked out,but the second one was leaked just before the GTX580 was released. The chap who released the first two slides has falsified stuff before(he admitted it). He hates AMD with a passion(says he will try to wreck any of their launches) and considers the HD7970 to consume to be power hungry for its performance. It could be quite possible the spec chart is the real one and the second one is a modification of the last one. Why are they comparing a top of the range 580 with a relatively mid range 6870?

Hmmm. No time soon then.
Reminds me of their 4** release. Nothing really good until 5** which weren't released until a very long time after the 5870. Puts me in a bit of a bind. The CF5870s just aren't that happy on Ultra settings, and I'd like to turn it up to all ahead full.

Remember,the HD5870 is nearly two and a half years old. Have you tried overclocking them a bit??
