What sort of temps should a GTX295 be getting up to?
110c seems a bit err... hot for my liking!

Looks like the max temp should be 105deg

Take the GPU and check the exhaust bit. I cleaned out of these out last week. They get clogged up quite badly, but it's only a 20 min job![]()

I had it in bits yesterday and gave it a going over with the Dyson. Might have to borrow the father in laws air compressor though and give it a proper blast![]()
had the issue with the CPU on my old PC.
cleaned out the heatsink and fan and temp dropped about 5 degrees.

as thats an old GPU now the thermal paste will no doubt be shot. time to strip it back and replace with none conductive stuff to get the temps down chap. no amount of cleaning the vents will get that back![]()

I've had a similar problem with my GTX550 Ti. According to Nvidia's site, it's ample temp is around 85deg, and the noise out of the fan is enough to drive even a mad man insance. Even though its still relatively new as I only purchased it a few months ago, would it be worth swapping the solo fan out for something like dual fan?
Thanks in advance.
Teyo the stock GPU units have average cooling so the thing to blame is generally the airflow in the PC case (try the side panel off and see if temps drop dramatically) If they do then you can either buy better fans or more fans for the PC case, change case to one with better aircooling or try a dual-tri fan GPU or aftermarket coolers to make it run colder. So if your lucky £5-20 of fans may be enough (although buying a fan controller for the case really helps). Many £50-£200 cases have great air cooling now and dust filters etc or changing to a super dooper dual tri fan new GPU £150-300! will cure the summer heat.
Removing the side panel and pointing a desk fan at the PC is often enough but not 'great looking'
Also making sure the CPU heat is getting out the case will really help as a hot CPU and GPU spell bad news.
