    Best 970 Output layout?

    http://www.techpowerup.com/gpudb/262...e-gtx-970.html

Looking to pick up this card during the week. Having a look there seems to be 2 main layouts for this card both of which aren't reference

    • 2x DVI 1x HDMI 1x DisplayPort
    • 1x DVI 1x mini-HDMI 3x mini-DisplayPort

Which one do you guys think is best? The 3x mDP seems to be the cheaper one.
The are also some other variations but only appear on the top end cards for some manufacturers.

Personally I like displayport a lot. It will convert to pretty much everything else. It usually has higher bandwidth and audio. So my 1440P can only work with DVI or Displayport. HDMI will only do 1080p on my monitor. DVI could be dual link or maybe single. I'd rather have 3 guaranteed high band width connections rather than potentially one single link dvi and only one DP.

That said full size DP is a lot easier to plug than mini with adapters.

    Re: Best 970 Output layout?

Thanks, ended up going for the 3x mini DP as it seems a safer long term option and is also overclocked (nothing to do with the other card being oos lol ) I only need 1 DVI at the moment so the DPs gives more future proofing.

Shame that the cards do not come with any adapters. :<

I didn't get chance to post but did you look at the G1 gaming? Has 2 dvis 3 displayports and 1 hdmi 2.0 and can drive 4 monitors at once its a gigabyte specific tech called flex.
