    980 Surround Mode

I'm just about to return my second PNY GTX980 card due to it not working in surround mode.

I have an i5-2500K, 16GB RAM, Win7-64, SLI 2x 560ti machine with 3x 1080P monitors, all running at stock speeds.

When I plug in the 980 I can get a single screen to work but if I plug in the other screens all screens go blank.

The power supply is good and I'm using two of the power connectors from the 560ti cards.

So has anyone else got surround working on a single 980?
If so what make cards are you using?

    Or any other ideas?

    Re: 980 Surround Mode

It even has the problem during startup i.e. before the drivers are even looked at.

I have put the 560's back in the PC now and all is fine. I think I will just reject the card and hold off a bit and see what develops as the card supply settles down a bit.

    Re: 980 Surround Mode

I have arranged an RMA for the second card, it's odd that the fault is so similar to the last one.

But I have found an interesting thread over on the Nvidia Forums which seems to point at a similar issue:
    https://forums.geforce.com/default/t...-win-7-64-bit/

From that thread is may appear that there is a problem that is going to get worse as more people try using surround.
