Moved into a more relevant area of the board
Looking on NVidia GeForce site it states near the bottom of the page minimum is 500 Watt, bear in mind though you need to consider what else is in your system drawing power, more than 1 hard drive etc which in turn will make you need a higher watt PSU.
To be safe I would personally say something like a 600 Watt, however others here may go for standard requirement and others more to make sure you are covered

The reviews i've seen for those cards recomend at least 500W PSU

It would be more beneficial to know what the PSU is.
Hi, I was wondering would anyone know if this graphics cards is compatible with Hackintosh? sorry to be off topic
just to be safe get atleast 650w good power supply.
Depending on whether it's a good 450W PSU, and enough of that is available on the 12V rails etc, then it could be more than enough for a 970.
We'd need more details of specs of the rest of the system though, and the model of PSU, to be more helpful.
