Sapphire Vapor-X R9 290 OC Owners

I have just purchased this card and would like to know what other owners experiences with this card is like plus any tips when using it. I am new to PC Gaming and for the time being have no interest in OCing. However the hardware I have is capable of doing so in the future when I gain more expereice and confidence in doing so, my CPU (i5 4690K), Mobo (MSI Z97 Gaming 5) are capable of OCing.

The Sapphire Vapor-X is one of the best 290 cards going. It has a very powerful cooler and is very quiet when stressed and it looks fabulous too.

How are you finding your card The_Brown_Light?

I have not installed it yet. I'm building my first rig in parts with my girlfriend as we've wanted to build one together and I have mine first. Sadly with our work schedules I've had parts in my room for over a week and not assembled most of it yet.

Up to now just have these assembled:
Corsair 450D, i5-4690K, MSI Z97 Gaming 5, CM Hyper 212 evo.
Left to do:
Sapphire Vapor-X 290 OC, MX100 256GB, WD Black 2TB, RM 850, Lite-On Optical Drive, Asus 24in + wire management.

The specs look very good and I am looking forward to play.
Hopefully done be done today or next Monday.

Any tips for the card mate?

You're a lucky man to have a partner that shares the same interest. Can i ask, who will have the better computer?

No specific tips for the card, just install the latest drivers from the AMD website and away you go. Of course if you get any problems let me know and I'll be on hand to help.

Nealy done/ All nighter. Just got to get a SATA power and data cable for my HDD and plug in that overly stiff 24-Pin into the Motherboard. Then install Windows 7 and all the driver, anti virus/online security and warranties.

Hopefully first boot goes well.

One thing though. My WD Black 2TB HDD does not come with a SATA power/Data port similar to my SSD and Optical Drive. What connects them?

Is it an old IDE drive? You'll need one of these then.

That's just normal SATA - the right part is for jumpers which you don't need to worry about.
