Bad Asus Strix 980? Random artifacts in Far Cry 4.

Hello i have a problem with Far Cry 4.

I mean sometimes ( very very rarely ) i have artifacts like this:

Card is OC by factory. I dont OC. Its my second Asus Strix 980 with similiar problem with artifacts on Far Cry 4.Again i must RMA? I am sorry but this is ridicilous. Second card with similiar problem. This time its showing that artifacts like above.
On other games i dont notice that. Playing Watch Dogs, Crysis 3, Heaven i dont see that artifacts.
Only in Far Cry 4 but very occasionally i have something like this. Very rarely but of course it is.
I can play Far Cry 4 many hours without that artifacts. But sometimes after 10 minutes it can appear like on stated movie above.
That yellow artifacts always appear on the same place in game. I dont get them in other places. Always when i walk to the same place like on that movie. It can be graphic card or its a game\driver issue because its always on the same place in game?
So its RMA time? So its again not stable OC even preferred by Asus?

    Hope you help me.
Ah i forget. My psu is Corsair 750 RM. Game is patched to 1.5. And i am using 344.75 - WHQL. Thx

Patch 1.5? Isn't that the one that eats 10GB+ of virtual memory in 3-4 hours?

You really need to update to the latest version (1.8), verify the files and then check again for those issues.

Agreed, if it's only happening in one game I'd be looking at that rather than the card, especially considering a new card didn't fix it.

That's not artifacting due to a card. It appears to be the game.

This post seems very familiar , Are you the guy from Overclock.net with the insane Strix 980 overclock yet not overclocked ?

    http://www.overclock.net/t/1529970/f...-or-card-issue

Are you having problems with other games ? If not, then FC4 is the issue. I tend to avoid Ubisoft games because of exactly these kinds of issues.

Its my second Strix 980 , and again i have occasionally artifacting on Far Cry 4. Why they not release stable card with factory OC?

Again, it's not the card. I don't even think it's artifacting, but rather terrain glitches in Far Cry 4.

Your seeming reluctance to consider updating the game/verifying the files could be down to you using a version that doesn't allow it. In which case, no amount of hardware replacements is going to fix a software bug that is built into the source.

If you had a faulty card that crashed under load whilst playing intensive games then it would crash when running more than one game, but you did say:

So that rules out the card.

There are two options for fixing your issues with Far Cry 4, 1) Patch the game or 2) uninstall it.

Now, if I'm not mistaken, Far Cry 4 would auto update when you launch Uplay, I'm fairly certain that the last time I tried to play the game when it needed an update the game refused to launch until it had been patched. The only reason I can think of that someone would be running version 1.5 of a game that is currently on version 1.8 is that the version they are running is not legit as you would need to be running the game without Uplay or Steam in order to miss the updates and if that's the case I doubt you'll find a solution on this site.

If for some reason you are running the game in offline mode and have been unable to connect to the internet, you might find the following information to be of help:

Re: Bad Asus Strix 980? Random artifacts in Far Cry 4.

@AndyG: This issue is clearly getting on the OP's nerves, he has certainly made a point of asking as many people as he can, he must be sew busy trying to fix the issue, I'll be surprised if he finds time to actually play the game.

If you look around you might be able to find some sources where you can download some code to fix your issue. Here's a link that might help fix the problem and here's another.

Re: Bad Asus Strix 980? Random artifacts in Far Cry 4.

I am really sorry for trouble. But if you can help me i will be pleased. Look
Look what i have found. Somebody record gameplay with Asus Strix 970. And he got the same occasionally flickering ( artifacts ) like mine Asus Strix 980.

    I upload movie.
    Look second 0:24 ( that fast flicker ) :

And i have the same random very occasionally flicker . Is this related to card or game? Or Strix are just too much overclocked just Far Cry 4?

If you still get the issue after updating the game then it must be the card. The game update will take less than an hour, it is much faster than an RMA and the common sense approach to dealing with such an issue.

I like that MrRockliffe. I am of the same thinking here. I can see no other reason why he would refuse to patch it to the latest version and blames the card instead.
