    gtx 780ti vs gtx 970

Hi, I was just wondering what people's views are on which they would choose, a gtx 780ti or a gtx 970, if they were both the similar price. (overclockers.co.uk are offering preorders of reference 780ti for £250 and the infinity black 970 for £270)

    Cheers, Dave

Or even just add an extra gtx 670 to my current build for around £100

Re: gtx 780ti vs gtx 970

Depends on usage really - the 970 is going to be much more power efficient, and has the latest feature set. On the otherhand the 780ti is much much better at compute or where you need more memory bandwitdh (for eg. running very high resolutions).

Re: gtx 780ti vs gtx 970

I think the 780 ti performs better in games, and it's a bit cheaper. It does use slightly more power, but it's only about a 50w difference in games, so it's pretty much negligible.

Re: gtx 780ti vs gtx 970

I have a standard GTX 780 and don't find the GTX 970 to be much of an upgrade, but it'll certainly be a nice upgrade from your GTX 670 .

There's a b-grade GTX 970 reference on OCUK at the moment for £240, if you're interested. Only has a 90 day warranty though.

I've gone with 2xGTX970's best choice I could've made for the money.

Re: gtx 780ti vs gtx 970

I was running out of funds and ended up just picking up another gtx 670 while I was with my brother getting him some pc stuff. I can sell them for about 70 or 80 each when I have some more funds again, get something better. Just scored 10202 on firestrike though, so for £150ish in total that I paid for both 670's, that's not bad.

Again, thanks for your input everyone :-)

Re: gtx 780ti vs gtx 970

I'm in this situation too, I have a machine with a 4GB 670 FTW in it and I can't decide whether to SLI or sell it and grab a 780ti.

Those 780tis had an ETA of today, but no bueno, I wonder if they are coming after all I don't see any pre order option (perhaps there was one and it sold out?)
