Hey. I am now maybe 400 hours+ in game and without crash or freeze. So i think that single freeze was a game issue?

At the risk of feeding the troll see the previous answers!

Seriously, I had to look at the date / time stamp to make sure it wasn't still April 1st. Somebody close this thread!

Sounds like a simple driver problem. I'd just make sure they're updated, and if the game is also updated (that is, the latest stable version), and you haven't had it since, then I don't see the problem?

Personally, I'd stop worrying and put it down to a freak crash.

Re: Far Cry 4 - computer froze. Only hard reset helps.

If it crashes once, it's a glitch, if it crashes every time you play it's a problem. You had a glitch, you don't need to do anything about it if it's not repeated.

Like Mr Rockliffe said - stop worrying.

You said in your first post dated 7 April, that the problem happened 5 days earlier, on the 2nd. Today is the 11th. That is a 9 day period.

9 days are 216 hours, so even if you don't sleep or eat, I'm at a loss to see how you have played over 400 hours?

However, I'm glad the 'problem' has resolved itself.

Re: Far Cry 4 - computer froze. Only hard reset helps.

Far cry 4 only freezed ( ctrl alt delete dont work so i forced reset button ) my system once, 7 days ago . But now i am in game maybe 170 ( not 400 ) hours,, without single freeze.
So that was only one strange freeze. My card is only Oced by factory ( stock ).
So that once freeze, was a card or game issue?

I tested Unigine Heaven for 10 hours without errors.
3dmark 11 Extreme for 1 hour without errors.
ANd tested many games without problems.

It could have been almost anything. Think of it as a unique event, stop worrying and use the computer as normal.

Nobody would go to the doctor's because they sneezed once about three weeks ago would they?

So don't try and fix a problem where your PC glitches once in 170 hours of game play in Far Cry 4. If the glitch can't be repeated you'll never be able to find the cause and if you can't find it you'll never be able to fix it.

If problems with Far Cry 4 come back, the simple solution is to report the issue and then play something else, as you have many games you can play, while you wait for a response and if it's a common issue a patch to fix it.

I don't know, and I doubt that it is possible to find out without a deep understanding of the inner workings of the Windows Kernel and access to any trace dump and the tools to analyse it. And even if you had crash dump enabled and you had the data, it may not be available now. So it is not only impossible to tell from the information you have posted here, but also from the information you probably have available to you.

It happened once, it hasn't happened again. It was probably a random set of circumstances, perhaps a spike on your main supply, a random cosmic ray flipping a critical bit in your RAM.

    Move on, enjoy the game.

I see several similar threads started by you on other sites, all with identical posts. This thread is now closed.
