VRAM stacking isn't a thing yet, though could be used potentially with DX12; we have yet to see if there is any potential benefit in doing so. I think the reason it's winning multi-GPU is probably down to slightly better crossfire scaling.
For what it's worth Zotac offer 5 year extended warranty. I have the amp edition based on reference PCB and it's fantastic; OC's very well and no coil whine. The extreme should be even better.
