Re: what Contras have video card ?

Contrast (note the "t" on the end. Contras was the nickname of the Nicaraguan Democratic Force and other Nicaraguan rebel groups in the 80s and early 90s... :-) is a function of the display, not the video card. Hence the provision of contrast specifications for a video card is an impossibility.

    I'm a bad clown and you're a bad listener.

The contrast is purely a function of the display, the video card has nothing to do with it.

It's probably set up wrong. A lot of TVs expect the signal to be passed in Limited RGB (16-235) format rather than the normal Full RGB (0-255) used for monitors. Check your graphics card control panel.

It needs to be set to Studio(Limited RGB) for a TV.

It doesn't work like that. Actual brightness levels that determine contrast are created by the TV. A video card just specifies which percentage of brightness it wants. When the video card specified 50% brightness next to 100% brightness a 1,000:1 TV will be 500:1, a 1,000,000:1 TV will be 500,000:1

EDIT: Well, half contrast wouldn't correspond to 50% brightness, but you get my meaning I hope.

    the tv Supports 4: 4: 4 FRGB
you think that I not tried Limited RGB ?
i try Limited RGB does not help anything, does not change anything .

    no
the television can accept informing that you can get from tham Contras.
If the transmitter informs missing or strong colors, without Contras
    you not get Contras !!!

    Fact:
the same films via USB Contras very impressive via HDMI you not get Contras !!!
TV via Internet Connected directly to the screen Contras very impressive
TV via Internet Connected through the computer and passes through HDMI you not get Contras !!!

The wording in your responses to our offers to help you make me feel quite uncomfortable, the quoted example here reads in a way that suggests you think the person that asked you a question is quite stupid for not having realised that you would have tried such an obvious thing, I think that such a tone is uncalled for where a simple, yes I tried it and it didn't help would have given us all the information we need.

Maybe it's a language barrier issue, your posts suggest that English might not be your first language.

Anyway, to focus on the problem at hand, maybe you could clarify a little more on what you are saying, as I understand it when you play content from a USB stick through the media player on your TV you get a fantastic picture but when you play the same content using your computer as the source the output is not as good, is that right?

If that's the case then there could be a number of reasons why this is happening, the ones that spring to mind are (though I am far from an expert on these matters):

    • Codecs on the PC are not as good as the Codecs on the TV
    • PC is processing the image before it gets displayed, while the TV handles all of the processing on the USB file
    • Poor quality cable might be leading to poor quality data transfer between the computer and the TV
    • TV prefers to use a specific HDMI input for computers and the computer is not connected to the input

If the colours don't look as strong then it might be a problem with the colour space. It may be defaulting to the sRGB (or similar) colour space for HDMI inputs as that's what blu-ray, consoles and computers are all primarily designed for. If the TV supports a wider colour space like Adobe RGB/aRGB or Rec. 2020 and uses it to play USB and Internet then the colours would look stronger, although less accurate unless your source videos were designed for it.
