    New AMD drivers issue

The latest AMD drivers seem to have issues with Flash.
On my R9 380, after installing these drivers, if I play a flash video, my PC crashes with a green screen.

I have investigated on AMD's website and it seems the last few drivers including this one are not WHQL drivers!
I have now downloaded an old version ( from July ) and there are no issues.

Has anyone faced similar issues as me ?

    Re: New AMD drivers issue

AMD drivers and flash have never played nicely together in my experience.

AMD tend to discreetly badge their non-WHQL drivers as "beta" or "hotfix". But if you've set something up to autoupdate the drivers it'll almost certainly just grab the latest package without consideration for their WHQL status.

Personally I don't worry about WHQL too much: it is just another hoop for companies to jump through and I suspect that some companies spend more time on making sure they pass WHQL than on actually implementing useful or necessary features. WHQL signing doesn't guarantee a bug-free or properly functional piece of software, it literally just says that the software has been designed to pass an arbitrary set of Microsoft tests. I'm pretty sure I could write WHQL software. It probably wouldn't do anything *but* pass WHQL certification, but then I can slap that "designed for Windows" badge on the box/website and off I go...

Well, WHQL drivers seem to work for me for the time being. Until the next WHQL driver, I won't risk updating the old drivers. I have also unticked Auto-update.

As I don't think I've ever seen an AMD rep on here, so unlikely they'd get your feedback on driver issue, report it via this.
