    MCP Temperature too high?

I wonder if you guys can help. I am running a Q6850 on an XFX 680i motherboard. At full load my cpu registers about 45c with the motherbaord temp something similar.

Cpu is running at 3.33ghz and ram at 1150mhz. The northbridge, cpu and graphics cards are watercooled. Southbridge has fan.

In the bios it states that the MCP temperature is 63c. Is this normal?

    Re: MCP Temperature too high?

It's a little high (to me), i'd try removing the fan & re-applying the thermal grease. But if it's not causing system instability, then you can always leave it alone. 60-70c is not unheard of.

Thanks 0iD, Everything is stable - ran Prime95 on all 4 cores for an hour no issues. Voltage was upped slightly - CPU voltage is 1.475v and Ram is 1.4v

Was just wondering if a temperature like that is 'normal'....

Unhappy Re: MCP Temperature too high?

    Hiya!

On the same topic, i've had my new system for about a week now and noticed that my MCP is at 95'C+... Do you think the thermal grease is recommended? i think it is but wondered what sort of temp's would start damaging the system???

BTW i'm not sute which mobo it is but its from a XFX gamer bundle with 8200 built in Graphics
    AMD Athlon Dual 5000+
    2.99GHZ
    64bit Vista Ultimate
    5GB RAM
    600W PSU
    8500GT External Graphics (temp = 55'c)
