Intel Matrix Raid - how to restore the "missing drive"?

    Hi!

I had a RAID 0 (non-system and non-boot) made up of 3 hard drives. The RAID had 3 partitions (NTFS) on it.

I accidentally marked 1 hard drive as non-RAID, and, of course, Intel Matrix Storage Console now shows that one drive is missing.

    What should I do now?

    Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh dear, you have broken a RAID 0.

I think you may have lost all the data on the RAID.

Can it not simply be unmarked if no data has been deleted?

Did you unmark it in the bios or within the Windows application? You should be able to add it back in without experiencing any data loss.

In the RAID config utility (it starts before Windows), not in the Windows app.

Re: Intel Matrix Raid - how to restore the "missing drive"?

basically if you cannot reselect it you lost the raid array, but with it being raid 0 you have a backup somewhere as its not a stable storage solution.

if you don't have a backup then you couldn't have had anything important so now would be a good time to format

Basically, I restored the missing drive info with Getdataback, and will try Active Undelete to reconstruct the RAID array

Re: Intel Matrix Raid - how to restore the "missing drive"?

consider a form of backup m8, 2 drives in raid 0, (1 for important stuff) 3 in raid 5. saves all ths crap as all i have to do is select my windows image from the NAS or copy over the documents
