    Optical drive vanished

After the flash. The CD drive no longer appears in either the BIOS or in hardware manager. How do I get it back ?

Hmm, did you definitely use the correct flash rom? Sounds like it's been bricked, you could try flashing again.

I think I need a set of MB drivers. But CD doesn't work...anyone know where I can get these ? The G website is a bit pants.

    It says on the site:

GIGABYTE SATA2 Preinstall driver (For AHCI / RAID Mode)
Note: Press F6 during Windows* setup to read from floppy.

    Re: Optical drive vanished

But what does that mean ? Install this first ? then the other ?
Doesn't expalin why I can't see the CDrom.
Device manager does seem to be asking for a driver...

    Re: Optical drive vanished

Hmmmm I get this message on boot "ODD0 Name of Drive"
Seems to be caused by an IDE dvd-rom plugged into Jmicron header ? Wasn't a problem before.
I can just take the thing to bits and connect inot another header and it will probably work, but I'm a little worried about the Code 10 errors on the IDE channel.

    Re: Optical drive vanished

    Grrrrr. Got it back.
Change one controller to AHCI and the other to IDE. Bingo.
    Not a common issue apparently.
